Lots of things happening

We had a wonderful time on Plum Island and in the nearby town of Newburyport despite lots of rain.

The antiquing was wonderful! We took a ride up through "Antique Alley" in New Hampshire and got few nice things.

I'm an avid collector of Art Deco/fifties jugs and pitchers.

Found two along the way.

I did bring my "Time Travel" rug with me to bind. Never did get around to that.

Because of the rain, I managed to get some knitting done and
finally(!) finished a sweater for my Prayer Shawl Ministry that I've been working on for months. Considering that the sweater will fit a small child, that is pretty bad!

Now that we are home, I've started working on a prayer shawl for my sister-in-law Tracey. While we were away, she got the devastating news that she has stage three melanoma. Our family is crushed by this news, and I'm asking for anyone out there to pray for her. She has a thirteen-year-old daughter who needs her mother, so any prayers would help. She'll be going to Sloan-Kettering in New York for treatment, and at this point, we are thankful that there are new clinical trials available.

I'm sorry this is a sad post, but it helps to put the word out and get people praying even if the person you are praying for is not someone you know. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I love your Art Deco collection of pitchers.
I'm sorry about your sister in law being diagnosed with stage three Melanoma. I'm less familiar with that type of cancer than breast cancer.

In 2002 just before Christmas, I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and had radical mastectomy, chemo for six months and then radiation and I was told that I might not make it. I had to go through expensive medications that I injected in my thighs myself to built up my red and white blood cells and the other option was bone marrow which luckily I didn't need after all.

I'm still living. Lets hope that your sister in law will make it through this devastating disease. My prayers are certainly with sister in law and her family and little girl. JB

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers and thoughts. It helps to know that cancer is not a death sentence. Take care.

So sorry about your sister in law. My brother just had a scare with melanoma. I will be praying for her and all of you and her daughter. Love your picture of the sea. We went to Nantucket last year and I love the ocean. I have seashells all about the house.

Thanks, Debra and Laura.

Laura, hoping to get to Nantucket next May or June. My daughter goes there often and loves it!
