January is the month for organizing! Right?

HELP! What do you do with all these worms? How do you organize them? I've got them in tupperware, in cigar boxes, in trays, stuffed in between layers of wool, not to mention that I find them on the windowsill, in the chairs, in the vacuum, etc.

Please tell me your ideas. I'm really trying to organize my supplies, so I don't wind up dyeing colors that I don't need. What works for you? Or is it hopeless!!!????!!!

I have about a hundred ziplock bags with worms. I'm looking for suggestions too. Good luck!

Thanks, Kim. They are multiplying and it is very distressing!

I have a little wooden chest of drawers with 9 different sections in it - I sort the worms by color and put them in each little cubby. It's really not quite enough though.

That's a start, though! My problem, too are the leftover strips that are part of a piece that hasn't been cut yet. I wind up rolling those up in the uncut wool. I suppose I could attach a small zip lock back with a pin to the wool.

I have the same thing going here. I've tried plastic bins separating the colors but then you have different size strips as well! I go through a ton of zip lock bags but that seems to be the only way I can keep them somewhat organized. I've tried cutting only what I need but they still multiply like rabbits!

It reminds me of the episode in the original Star Trek series where the tribbles kept multiplying! I remember that when I first started hooking, my teacher had a trunk full of worms for our use.

You can gently marry some of them for and use for backgrounds, grass or anything else you wish depending on the colors you need most.

After marrying them I blot them dry with an old towel and hang them to dry on plastic hangers.

I hope that this helps a bit. Too bad our colors don't multiplies. JB

That is a great idea and one I don't always think to do. I just added "marry worms" to my to do list!

I have my worms in clear plastic bins. Each bin is about the size of a shoebox, and each shoebox holds one color. I sort leftovers into the proper bins at the end of a project. Every once in a while I make a hit or miss rug to use some of them up.
